Pathway Journey
My project aims to investigate the role of the risk gene TREM2 in the development of Alzheimer’s disease, and involves a collaboration with the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology at A*STAR in Singapore.
Biography
I did my bachelors degree at the University of Edinburgh. Afterwards, I worked in drug discovery – firstly at a biotech in Manchester and then at the Oxford Drug Discovery Institute, before starting my PhD.
I feel that the DTP is very well supported by its friendly administrative staff, and that there are a lot of training opportunities, workshops and courses available for students. In particular, the time spent abroad at A*STAR in Singapore has proved thoroughly valuable, providing an excellent experience both inside and outside of the lab.
