1+3 Student
I completed my BSc in Biomedical Sciences at University College London, during which I was involved in a single-blinded clinical trial for my final year research project. I then obtained my MSc in Human & Applied Physiology in the CHAPS department at King’s College London. Keen to develop my laboratory skills and pursue a PhD, I enrolled on the MRC DTP programme.
I chose the 1+3 studentship due to the variety of projects available and for the opportunity to be welcomed into three potential PhD labs to get a feel for the projects, techniques and lab environment, prior to committing to one. Furthermore, the programme provides continued training through a wide range of workshops which would be useful in my PhD and future academic career.
